A demonstration lime burning event was held at Whitlingham Country Park, 10th to 12th September 2010.
The Geological Society of Norfolk teamed up with the Whitlingham Charitable Trust and the Natural Building Company to build the kiln; local historians Geoffrey Kelly and Robin Whitmore brought history alive with a programme of walks and talks about the industry at Norwich and Whitlingham, including the history of the local landscape. The project was funded by Natural England and the Geologists’ Association in association with Chalk East.
